How do you know whether all your marketing effort is having any impact? Are you confident that your marketing spend is yielding the best results?
If you've inherited KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) or Performance Targets - do you really know whether these are relevant?
Perhaps your media mix is changing and you need to think about new online metrics and what drives your business performance?
How's your reputation doing? Room for improvement, or just don't know?
And perhaps most importantly are you measuring what really matters to your customers? They'll probably not tell you if they are unhappy - they'll just leave.
So if you are running your business on guesswork and just guessing what your customers think, or planning your strategy on the basis of hear-say and anecdote - you'll need to understand how to measure what really matters. You must find out what your customers are thinking before it's too late, and you need to ask them the right questions:
* How loyal they are?
* How they choose between you and your competitors?
* Whether you should be dropping (or raising) your prices?
* Whether they'll come back, or recommend you to others?
If you don't ask them, they won't tell you, so you need to know how to find this out quickly and affordably.
